Same, but better. If you thought that they were good at reduced bunch sprints on hilly terrain before, then imagine pretty much the same but in more races! Also who's excited for Yates & Yates plus Chaves?
In:
Magnus Cort Nielsen (climby sprinter)
Adam Blythe (sprinter)
Caleb Ewan (sprinter)
Jack Haig (stagiare, climber)
Out:
Matt Goss (used to be a sprinter)
Aidis Kruopis (leadout)
Stars:
Michael Albasini (classics, super domestique)
Johan Estaban Chaves (climber)
Caleb Ewan (sprinter)
Simon Gerrans (classics)
Daryl Impey (super domestique)
Michael Matthews (climby sprinter)
Adam Yates (climber)
Strengths:
The hilly classics is where this squad work the best, with Gerrans sprinting from a reduced bunch after his team does a lot of work getting him there.
Hard sprinting days are the bread and butter for the likes of Ewan, Cort, Albasini, Matthews, Gerrans and Impey, and they'll always be amongst the action there.
With their young climbing talent coming through, expect to see the likes of Chaves and the Yates brothers given a few gos at winning 1 week stage races.
One of the best in the world in the TTT.
Weaknesses:
Obviously lack any real top-tier climbers, which restricts their GC options.
Their presence on the cobbles is limited to Jens Keukeleire.
